We've designed A Contemplative Foundation to take about 10 weeks.
Each week, we'll introduce a skill we think is essential in leaning into the contemplative life, along with a practice or practices to help to nurture this. Ultimately, this is aimed at helping you be attentive to and respond to the work of God's love in your life—what we call “noticing and nurturing,” which is really essential for the work we invite people into during postulancy. This is why we ask those interested in postulancy with us to fully engage this pre-postulancy process.
In addition to formational outcomes we hope to build on with you through postulancy and beyond, we also anticipate that by the end of A Contemplative Foundation, you'll take away:
A greater awareness of your present rhythms, core values and patterns of interior movements (like engagement, disengagement, consolation and desolation)
Practices to support your journey through postulancy (like daily examen, centering prayer and silence)
And an articulation of where you find yourself to be in your spiritual story, today
After you've taken some time with each week's video and practices, you can scroll down to the next video.
